When you employ people on a higher wage and call them next level but they arent you fuck up morale. Its not rocket science.

Not much to say really other than we did a job.
But I think if that performance came during a time when we were playing well and were winning majority of games and the players looked on it and were creating lots of chances, then you'd say "Well, we did what we had to do and didn't break the bank doing it".
But, unfortunately, that performance was the norm for right now. Nothing last night showed me anything other than our deficiencies as squad and team. Better opposition beats us easy last night.

I am amazed at how poor a tackler Scamacca is, at least currently.
I mean, you don't expect your striker to tackle like Moore or Rice, but you'd expect any professional footballer to do better than every tackle a foul.

Agree 100% Trying too hard to do things that arent 2nd nature to him because he has been told that is what is wanted or thinks that that is what is wanted.
It really frustrates me because that isn't what we bought, he doesnt naturally play that way. I would be happy to have a younger Antonio in the squad if that is their natural game but trying to CONVERT someone who is well regarded for how he plays makes no sense.

Other than the bloke himself loving his told you so's after a win the useless jock cunt, I get wound up with how many fans we still have who defend him.
I don't do social media but whenever I log on to WHO, the shit below the link is always where it appears on peoples twitter accounts and always of people still thinking he's a decent manager doing a good job.
Really easy sport to understand football, yet so many are fucking incapable to being able to do so.

He is, but he looked like an absolute donkey doing it last night. Miscontrolling the ball and pushing people over. Like he'd been watching film of Andy Carroll at his poorest. I really hope it's just rust after being out so long rather than anything else.
Soimply the chance was Paqueta's because he'd made the better run/got into position to receive the ball quicker/better.

Scamacca is dropping very deep to try an get involved and get things started.
The chance that Cornet created (brilliantly) should have fallen to him not to Pacqueta.

Not a great spectacle and many of our flaws were exposed again. Surprised at the technical ability of the Larnaca players.
The football was just a small part of a great couple of days in the sun with like-minded types. The owner of the Meeting Pub is suddenly a rich man! The hijacking of the microphone from Jack Sparrow for our karaoke was comedy gold!

You have forgotten our glorious Intertoto win in 1999?
Sadly everything you have said is true. We are more akin to Crystal Palace, QPR, and Fulham than Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs which is where we should be.

It is in a way, but I'd also say it's a good tactical yellow in the grand scheme of things. He's not going to be needed in the second leg with already a 2-0 lead so at least he's definitely available for a potential QF tie when he's going to be needed more.

I noticed Downes, in his post match interview said 'It was nice to be on the pitch'.
Sounds like a bit of a loaded comment to me....
I think a lot of the players are pretty unhappy.

Manuel 11:15 Fri Mar 10 Re: ⚽ AEK Larnaca v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview Richy - To be fair I'm only stating the obvious, I think the vast majority think the same. What irks me though is instead of Moyes keeping quiet about throwing away a once in a lifetime opportunity, he keeps reminding us all and boasting about how well we did to get to a semi final! He's a complete cretin, I mean are we really that small time, in his mind at least, where we should view it as such a great achievement and be so grateful?
___
Sadly, if you look at our history since 1980 then the answer to your question is yes. We really are that small time.
The fact of the matter is last season's semi final run to the secondary UEFA European cup competition is by far our best European run since 1980.
It's our tinpot, small time history since 1980 that is the driving reason why people like Moyes and those in the media and supporters at other clubs still regard West Ham as some small time, random London club that hasn't won or competed for anything for years bar the odd decent season here or there. Since 1980 we have only reached two domestic cup finals in 43 seasons (the 1981 League Cup Final and the 2006 FA Cup final).
Until and unless the infrastructure and mentality of the club changes from the top, nothing will ever change and most of us will die never seeing West Ham win another trophy. It's depressing. Anyway, Happy Friday one and all!

An opportunity to shine in 30 minutes of a game, where we were 2-0 up and therefore the team are instructed to sit back, bank up and let the other team have all the ball while we just try not to concede. What an opportunity for him.
Comparatively, if we judge Antonio on his opening 30 minutes, what is the verdict? Think he gave the ball away every time it came near him.
I don’t see Scamacca as an impact sub anyway, but Messi would have struggled to make an impact with that “opportunity”.

"He looked completely frustrated and disinterested largely due to his lack of service"
that pretty much describes every striker that plays under this manager, unless you're willing to run around like a headless chicken like antonio does, it must be a joyless experience but at least they're getting paid for the privilege unlike the fans

Yep and he’s doing the exact same with Aguerd now because he’s had a couple of iffy moments. Literally talking about his faults after every game. The worst man manager around, and I bet they all think he’s a cunt.
He’d do well to discuss his own faults, such as winning one away game all season and not trying anything different.
Nobody deflects quite like this fella, and his inability to work with technical players is pissing me right off.
There is a clear common denominator.

Assuming Scamacca returns to Italy at least we should at least get our money back on him as he still appears to be highly rated there as Italy's first chose striker, unlike with Haller where we took a big loss.
It's been a shocking first season for him, I don't usually feel for footballers, but do a bit for him as he clearly is very frustrated at lack of minutes, etc. Not convinced about how good he really is, needs to improve his finishing and movement for me, but clearly has potential to be very good.
